Product description

Lot: Record No.1 bench vice — compact stamped maker’s vice with MADE IN ENGLAND and RECORD visible on the body. The sliding screw and handle operate smoothly (checked). Heavy surface rust, paint splatters and dirt are present across the cast iron finish. The most important visible issue is a vertical split through the top jaw casting; jaw faces are worn and corroded.

This vice is a restoration or parts opportunity for a tool restorer, hobby machinist or collector of vintage workshop hardware. It suits someone who needs a small, stamped Record vice for reconditioning, a parts donor to repair another vice, or a light-duty bench organiser after refurbishment. Because of the cracked top jaw it is not offered as a fully load-bearing workshop vice without repair.

  • Includes: One Record No.1 bench vice (single item) as pictured.
  • Condition: Heavy surface rust, paint drips, dirt and debris; jaw faces worn; top jaw has a clear vertical split/crack through the casting.

  • Working status: Screw and handle operate smoothly to open/close the sliding jaw (operated and confirmed by warehouse).
  • Mounting: Base has mounting holes; no mounting bolts or fasteners included.
  • Proof: Maker stamps visible — RECORD, No1 and MADE IN ENGLAND are legible in photos.
  • Known faults: Split/cracked top jaw, extensive surface rust, paint splatters, worn jaws and base corrosion. Sold as pictured.
